Block of the Week- The Odette Quilt- Week 5



Welcome to Week 5 of the Odette Quilt Block of the Week!

This week we are working on Blocks 9 and 10.  Let's go!



Odette Block 9




Download the templates for Block 9 HERE.  When you print the templates, make sure there is no scaling and that the 1" test blog actually measures 1".


From turquoise print, cut:
     -4- A templates
     -4- B templates

From yellow print, cut:
     -4- A templates
     -4- B templates

From the White Background, cut:
     -8- A templates
     -8- B templates


1. Layout the pieces as shown below.



2.  Sew the template A's to the template B's.








3.  After sewing all the small pieces, make into a 4 patch.



4.  Sew the block together.


Make 1 block, 12 1/2" x 12 1/2", including the seam allowance



Odette Block 10







From the Cream print, cut:
     -2- 5” squares
     -6- 2 1/2” squares

From the Aqua, cut:
     -4- 2 1/2” squares

From the White Background, cut:
     -2- 5” squares
     -10- 2 1/2” squares

1.  Use 2- 5” white and 2- 5” cream print squares to make two at a time HST.  Trim each HST to 4 1/2” square.  You will end up with 4 HST total.

                                 Make 4 HSTs, 4 1/2" x 4 1/2", including the seam allowance

2.  Use 4- 2 1/2” white and 4- 2 1/2” aqua squares to make two four patches.  

 Make 2 four patches, 4 1/2" x 4 1/2", including the seam allowance

3.  Use 4- 2 1/2” white and 4- 2 1/2” cream print squares to make three four patches.

Make 3 four patches, 4 1/2" x 4 1/2", including the seam allowance


4.  Lay the block pieces out as shown in the block picture above and sew the block together.

Make 1 block, 12 1/2" x 12 1/2", including the seam allowance
