Riley Blake Designs Blog Tour: Gingham Farm

Hi, Everyone!  Today is my turn on the Riley Blake Designs Blog Tour for Gingham Farm Fabric by My Mind's Eye.  This fabric was such a joy to work with.  I would normally say that I'd choose color over neutral any day BUT this fabric totally changed my mind!!

This line is made up of creams, blacks, light greens, and sage greens.  It is absolutely stunning.  And what until you see what I made with it!

I used my free quilt pattern- Prairie Quilt- and I made a smaller wall quilt!  I'm dying over it.  My only regret is that I didn't make a bigger quilt because I love this fabric so much.  However, as soon as this line is in stores and I can purchase more of Gingham Farm, I will remedy that right away :)

So, here are some more photos of my wall quilt-

In case you'd like to make it yourself, you can find my Prairie Pattern HERE.  I used one full dresden, 4 quarter dresdens, and 4 half star blocks plus the 4 pieces of sashing.  This mini version measures about 29 5/8" square.

To make this smaller version, I used:
1 pack-5" squares of Gingham Farm (SKU 5-8990-42)
1 1/4 yard yards background fabric (SKU C8995-CREAM)
1 fat quarter of 1/4 yard charcoal stripe (SKU C8996-CHARCOAL)
1/3 yard floral (SKU C8990-CREAM)
1 fat quarter of 1/2 yard for binding fabric (SKU C8994-BLACK)
1 yard Swiss Dot for the backing (SKU C600-110 BLACK)

I have left over 5" squares but I wanted to get as much variety as possible in the dresden blades so I wanted to choose from the variety of a 5" stacker.  I'm planning on making a pillow with the extra.

It was the perfect, fun, quick project!

Talk to you soon,

Jessica
