On Point QAL- Print/Scrappy Version Fabric Requirements

Welcome to the next post about the On Point QAL!  In this post, I'll be talking about the fabric requirements for a scrappy or print version of the quilt!

The On Point Quilt measures about 68" x 68".  I've made this in pink to test it out.  Here is the layout and placement of each solid fabric (so you know what goes where and you can make the substitutions you'd like)

But, today we are going to talk about the fabric requirements to make a scrappy or print version of this quilt!

I made some mock ups using Chloe's Closet 30s Playtime 2018.  I adore 30s fabrics and I think these versions are both so beautiful!

There are two way you can approach the scrappy/print version---

Both are below and the fabric requirements for each are there as well.

For option number one, as shown in the picture right above, the corners of the main blocks are colored with prints.  To make this version, you will need-

1 layer cake squares (which equals 40- 10" x 10" squares) or 4 charm packs

2 1/2 yards white

4 1/2 yards backing
3/4 yard binding
Twin sized batting- 72" x 90"

For option number two, as shown in the picture right above, the corners of the main blocks are white.   To make this version, you will need-

32- 10" x 10" squares (or one layer and you will have a few squares left over) or 4 charm packs

3 yards white (NOTE: you'll need exactly 3 yards so if you are worried about cutting mistakes, have extra on hand or buy 3 1/4 yards)

4 1/2 yards backing
3/4 yard binding
Twin sized batting- 72" x 90"
