Here is what the original Icicles quilt looks like-

Here is the schedule we will follow during our quilt along.

Icicles Quilt Along

This week, in week 6, we are making the corner triangles and assembling the quilt top.

This is much the same as last week but the triangles are smaller, with less pieces.  Lay out the pieces as per the pattern.  Sew each of the pieces together into rows.

Trim the overhang and sew the top two rows together.  To sew the bottom row to the top triangle, fold the green piece in half and crease the center (shown below) and then match it to the seam in the row above it.

Sew together.

To sew the triangle onto the quilt, fold the green piece in half again and crease to mark a line on the bottom, raw edge.  Then, line that up to the main part of the quilt top.  You'll still have your creases in your dresden blocks so you can line it up with the middle crease at that point (shown below).

To finish up the quilt top, trim all of the overhanging points on the triangles.  Add the borders and tah-dah...your top is complete!

Thank you for sewing along with me to make the Icicles quilt!

You can the hashtags #iciclesquilt #seasontotastequiltbook and #jessicadayonpatterns to share your progress.  Happy sewing!

Talk to you soon,
