Image
Hi, Everyone!  I've decided to run a Block of the Week in the New Year!  To me, there is no better way to start a new year than with a new project :)

I will be hosting a free Block of the Week here on my blog.  I'll be posting two blocks per week for 10 weeks and in the 11th week, I'll give sashing and finishing information.

The Block of the Week will start January 9th.  Here is the schedule that we will follow.

UPDATE: I pushed the QAL back one week from January 2nd to January 9th because I was getting lots of requests to start a little later because people were still waiting on their fabric.

Riley Blake Designs Blog Tour: Gingham Farm

Image
Hi, Everyone!  Today is my turn on the Riley Blake Designs Blog Tour for Gingham Farm Fabric by My Mind's Eye.  This fabric was such a joy to work with.  I would normally say that I'd choose color over neutral any day BUT this fabric totally changed my mind!!

This line is made up of creams, blacks, light greens, and sage greens.  It is absolutely stunning.  And what until you see what I made with it!
I used my free quilt pattern- Prairie Quilt- and I made a smaller wall quilt!  I'm dying over it.  My only regret is that I didn't make a bigger quilt because I love this fabric so much.  However, as soon as this line is in stores and I can purchase more of Gingham Farm, I will remedy that right away :)
So, here are some more photos of my wall quilt-

In case you'd like to make it yourself, you can find my Prairie Pattern HERE.  I used one full dresden, 4 quarter dresdens, and 4 half star blocks plus the 4 pieces of sashing.  This m…

2019 Countdown to Christmas in COOKIES!

Image
Christmas cookies are my favorite, favorite!!  Before I had kids, I used to take the week before Christmas off of work and bake like crazy!  I'd make 20-25 different kinds and 4-5 batches of each kind.  Then I'd make cookie platters up for everyone in the family.  Now, I can't manage intense baking sessions like that at this time so I decided to break it up and try to make a cookie a day this year!

My plan is that my family will sample the cookies on the day we make them, then I'll wrap the rest up and freeze them until Christmas.  On Christmas Eve and Christmas, we will have a huge cookie platter to share with family.  I'm really looking forward to it!

I shared this on Instagram and I received lots of messages asking for the recipes for the cookies that I'm making.  I will continue to share those in my stories on Instagram but I wanted to keep a more formal list here with proper links to the recipes for others but also for myself so I can remember the details…
