Riley Blake Designs Blog Tour- Strawberry Jam and Free Pattern- The Honey Quilt

Hi, Everyone!  Today is my turn on the Riley Blake Designs Blog Tour for Strawberry Jam by Lauren Brewer Designs.

I loved this beautiful fabric when I saw it online but it is even prettier in person!!  I love the range of colors and each of the designs are beautiful.

I wanted a simple design where the prints could stand out and I came up with this!

My new quilt pattern called the Honey Quilt!

The Honey Quilt measures 72 3/8" x 72 3/8".  It is fast and fun and shows off prints really well!

I gave this pretty quilt some extra TLC and did a combination of hand quilting and machine quilting. I love how it make the 'X's' stand out and the back is SO pretty too!

I used wool batting on this one.  The wool makes it extra puffy and the stitches stand out really nicely because of it.

You can find the PDF of this pattern HERE

I'm so thrilled with the results!

If you make one, I'd love to see- share it on Instagram by tagging me @jessicadayon and using the hashtags #jessi…

Riley Blake Designs Blog Tour- Shades of Summer

Hi, Everyone!  Today is my turn on the Riley Blake Designs Blog Tour for Shades of Summer by Heather Peterson.

I love this bright, beautiful, saturated fabric!  I chose to work with the red and yellow.

With the reds in the line and the red panel, I made a Mama's Garden quilt.  The pattern is by Sweetwater Co. and you can find it in their Etsy shop- here.

This quilt is quick and easy to put together and has such a beautiful look!

I also made a sunshine pillow!

I designed this pillow and am so happy with how it turned out!  The curves are gentle and not too difficult to sew.  I'm planning on publishing a pattern for this next week, so be on the look out!

For the batting in the quilt and the pillow, I used:
Warm & Plush

I used my Janome Continental M7 to piece quilt and pillow and quilt the quilt.  I hand quilted the pillow.

That's it for today!  Thanks for following along!

Talk to you soon,

Riley Blake Designs Blog Tour Christmas Traditions

Hi, Everyone!  Today is my turn on the Riley Blake Designs Blog Tour for Christmas Traditions by Dani Mogstad.

Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday and I try to go all out decorating.  I like to add a few new things each year, if possible.  This year, I'm excited to add these pillows!

When I saw this Christmas Traditions collection, I decided I wanted to make a few throw pillows with it.  I love all of the pretty prints and throw pillows would allow me to leave them on the couch, front and center, to enjoy for the Christmas season.

I started with a 10" Stacker and some fat quarters.  The 10" Stacker plus white background make all of the tops of my five pillows!  I'm super excited by the prospect of using a 10" Stacker for pillows again in the future because I think 10" Stackers are a good buy and I had plenty of fabric for these 5 pillow tops!!  Then, you need 1 fat quarter per pillow for t…
