Quilters' Spring Cleaning 30-day Challenge

Image
Hi, Everyone!  I have a fun challenge to share with you today!
Amber of Gigi's Thimble and I have collaborated on another fun project- the Quilters' Spring Cleaning 30-Day Challenge!!
We have been loving the Willow QAL and wanted to come up with something new to do and this is what we thought up.

The challenge will begin on Friday, May 1st (that's in just TWO days!) and will end on May 30th.
It will include 30 tasks that will help you get your sewing space clean and organized! We are aiming to spend approximately 30 minutes each day on a task.
Here is the list of tasks:
1. Organize a drawer 2. List all projects & kits 3. Organize rulers 4. Purge unwanted projects/kits 5. Sort scraps 6. Organize red, pink & yellow fabrics 7. Change rotary blades 8. Clean off one surface – chair, table top, etc. 9. Organize orange & green fabrics 10. Organize threads 11. Pre-wind bobbins

Riley Blake Designs Blog Tour- Hocus Pocus

Hi, Everyone!  Today is my turn on the Riley Blake Designs Blog Tour for Hocus Pocus by Echo Park Paper Co.

When I saw this pretty Halloween line, I knew I wanted to make a quilt with it!  When I got it in the mail from Riley Blake, my newly 3 year old son saw it and claimed it 😂  For almost a week, he carried the stack of fabric around with him, flipping through each print, and naming what he saw.  He laid with it at nap time and on the couch, took it in his toy car, LOL!  Then I needed to start on the quilt and he cried when I cut into it!!

So, in addition to the quilt I have made here, I need to make him a quilt with this Hocus Pocus fabric ASAP.  I'm thinking just really big patchwork squares so he can see each of the prints and enjoy them.

For the quilt I made here, I decided on using 'Dancing Wreaths' by Sandy Gervais.  This quilt measures 76" x 76".  I made the outer border slightly bigger.  Before I started my scallop, mine…

Riley Blake Designs Blog Tour: Liberty Winterbourne

Image
Hi, Everyone!  Today is my turn on the Riley Blake Designs Blog Tour for Liberty Fabrics Winterbourne collection.

Like so many people, I love Liberty Fabrics and this collection is no different.  I love the combination of the florals and dark blue, teal, and plum colors along with the softer pinks and grays.  This collection also has some really pretty low volume prints.

The quilt I made was inspired by the Prism Quilt from Purl Soho.  However, I altered the dimensions to make it bigger and didn't use any half square triangles, just easy corner triangles.

For this quilt top, I used:
-1 fat quarter bundle of Liberty The Winterbourne Collection
-Background- Confetti Cottons Le Creme (SKU C120-LECREME)
-Binding- Liberty Winterbourne Collection Primula Posey A (SKU 04775735A)
-Backing- Confetti Cottons Pewter (SKU C120-PEWTER)

To start, I cut-
    24- 6 1/2" x 42" strips, crosscut into 143 squares, 6 1/2" x 6 1/2"

Then I sorted the Liberty by color.  I cut 3 1/2&quo…
