Riley Blake Designs Project Tour- Kindness, Always
Good Morning! It's Jessica Dayon and today I'd like to share a fun project I made using Kindness, Always by Etta Vee for Riley Blake Designs. This collection is bright and beautiful! The mixture of colors and prints is so pretty. Here is a look-
I chose to work with only a few prints to make a gorgeous bag! I chose to make The Ultimate Travel Bag by Annie Unrein. I used three prints from the collection in the bag- the Teal main for the outside, the Butterflies in Cloud for the inside, and the Tonal Navy for accent. Look how pretty it turned out!
To make this bag, I used the original Ultimate Travel Bag from the Craftsy website. Since this Craftsy class was made a while ago, there is also an Ultimate Travel Bag 2.0 pattern on Annie Unrein's website and there is a video add-on option for the 2.0 as well.
I followed along with the video as I made it and it was nice to have some reassurance when making the bag the first time. Annie has great instructions and the video really helps make the project a success.
I absolutely love the the fabric looks in tI followed along with the video as I made it and it was nice to have some reassurance when making the bag the first time. Annie has great instructions and the video really helps make the project a success.
The back of the bag is shown directly below. One handy feature of this bag is that it has a horizontal strap (with velcro tab) that fits over the handle of your suitcase so that the bag can securely sit on top of your suitcase as you pull it.
For the bag hardware, I purchased it from ByAnnie.com. I bought exactly what was suggested in the pattern. For the hardware finish, I chose Antique Brass. I really love how it looks.
The inside of the bag was fun to construct too. And, I just love the butterfly print too. One side has a full mesh pocket with a zipper closure.
The other side has open mesh pockets broken up into 3 sections.
This was a really rewarding and fun project. I'm excited to use this travel bag whenever I get the chance. These fabrics are gorgeous and I smile each time I look at them!
Thank you for following along!
Jessica
