The 2024 Scrappy Sampler Block of the Week

   

Hi, Everyone!  This year has flown by and here we are halfway through December already!  The Scrappy Sampler has become an important part of my December so let's do it again this year!

Here is the plan!  The blocks for this quilt will be free patterns given here on my blog. We are going to be making 6" blocks this year.  The blocks will be a mystery and I'll release them on my blog as mentioned in the schedule below.  I will not give fabric requirements for the blocks because of the variety of the blocks and the fact that you can pick and choose the ones you'd like to make.  However, I'd recommend starting with what you have- scraps, a fat quarter bundle, etc...- and know that you may need more fabric depending on how many blocks you decide to make.  

I have written a quilt setting pattern to go with this sampler- the 2024 Scrappy Sampler Quilt Setting.  You can purchase it HERE. The pattern includes setting information for five different sizes- Baby, Small Throw, Large Throw, Queen, and King.  Here is the information on each of the sizes:

Baby Size- Make 9 sampler blocks. Measures 39 1/2" x 39 1/2"

Small Throw Size- Make 20 sampler blocks. Measures 50 1/2" x 61 1/2"

Large Throw Size- Make 30 sampler blocks. Measures 61 1/2" x 72 1/2"

Queen Size- Make 56 sampler blocks. Measures 83 1/2" x 94 1/2"

King Size- Make 81 sampler blocks. Measures 105 1/2" x 105 1/2"

While I will be making the all of the blocks for my quilt, you can pick and choose to make whatever ones you'd like and the amount of each depending on the size quilt you are making.  If you don't like a certain block, you can make a different one twice or substitute another one entirely. 

Let's talk schedule!  I always look forward to some really great sewing during the week after Christmas, we are going to have a block pattern a day for that week!  But then after January 1st, we will slow the speed down a little and do three block patterns per week (the final week will have 4 blocks).
