-here is the schedule for the quilt along--

This week we are easing our way into the QAL.  Our task for this week is to pick out our fabric!  Fun and easy :)

The On Point Quilt measures 68" x 68".  I've made this in pink to test it out.  Here is the layout and placement of each solid fabric (so you know what goes where and you can make the substitutions you'd like)

To make the exact quilt that I made, you will need the following:

2 1/4 yards of Moda Bella Solids Betty’s Pink 9900-120
1 3/4 yards Moda Bella Solids Tea Rose 9900-89
1 3/4 yards Moda Bella Solids Off White 9900-200
4 1/2 yards backing
3/4 yard binding

The Warm Company Warm & Plush- Twin sized batting- 72" x 90"

If you would like to make the solid version but in your own color choices, these are your fabric requirements:

You will need-

2 1/4 yards of light color
1 3/4 yards dark color
1 3/4 yards white
4 1/2 yards backing
3/4 yard binding
Twin sized batting- 72" x 90"

If you are still deciding on which solids to use, you can go to my original post and see lots of different color versions.

In addition to the solids version, I have given you two print options that you can also choose from.

PRINT A: The first print option---

We will call this option- PRINT A.  Print A (as shown in the picture above) has the corners of the main blocks colored with prints.  To make this version, you will need-

1 layer cake squares (which equals 40- 10" x 10" squares) or 4 charm packs
2 1/2 yards white
4 1/2 yards backing
3/4 yard binding
Twin sized batting- 72" x 90"

PRINT B: The second print option---

We will call this second option- PRINT B.  Print B (as shown in the picture above) has the corners of the main blocks white.   To make this version, you will need-

32- 10" x 10" squares (or one layer and you will have a few squares left over) or 4 charm packs
3 yards white (NOTE: you'll need exactly 3 yards so if you are worried about cutting mistakes, have extra on hand or buy 3 1/4 yards)
4 1/2 yards backing
3/4 yard binding
Twin sized batting- 72" x 90"

For my quilt for the QAL, I am using Looking Forward by Jen Kingwell and I'm excited about it!  Here are my supplies-

That's it for Week 1 of the QAL.  You have a whole week to get your fabric ready.  Meet me back here next Friday and we will start cutting!

Let me know if you have any questions!

Talk to you soon,

Jessica
