Product Review: Accuquilt Ready.Set.Go! Ultimate Fabric Cutting System
I recently had the pleasure of trying out the Accuquilt Ready. Set. Go! Ultimate Fabric Cutting System. This system features a die cutting technology that is used to cut fabrics quickly and accurately. I have never used a die cutting system so I was very eager to try this. And, let me tell you, it’s as fabulous as it seems to be!
When ordering this set, you will receive:
- GO! Fabric Cutter
- GO! Qube 8" Mix & Match Block
- GO! Strip Cutter-2 1/2" (2" Finished)
- GO! Cutting Mats: 6" x 6" and 10" x 24"
- GO! Qube Book by Eleanor Burns
- Die Pick
- Over 70 free patterns included
The main component of this system is the Go! cutter. The actual design is very sleek with a magnet to secure it closed at the top. I thought that the cutting machine itself felt sturdy and substantial enough that I didn’t have to worry about bumping it and breaking it but, by no means, was it too heavy. The handle felt good and sturdy so I had no worries about cranking it.
The booklet that it comes with is very helpful for getting started and so was the dvd. Also shown below is the 8" Cube which has 8 dies to make 8" blocks.
One thing I really loved is how the everything is contained beautifully for storage. It’s really easy (and quick) to pull out everything to use but also the 8” cube stores the dies really nicely so that I can keep track of them.

I flipped through the book that comes with the set and chose a test block to make.
The patterns in this book are super handy because they tell exactly what number dies needed and how many times to cut from each die.
Each of the dies has a label on the side that tells the number (so you know where to put it in the cube and also so you can coordinate it to the patterns in the book).
The cutting side of the die looks like this.

When I started using the Accuquilt Go!, I was surprised how simple it was! It’s very easy to rough cut the fabric to about the correct size, load it in, and crank it though.
The layers were nicely cut. And it was simple to cut 6 layers at a time (as the product states that you can do).
I followed the pattern and cut all the pieces I needed for my block.
The pieces were absolutely perfect and accurate, and because of this, it was really easy to guide them through my sewing machine with a 1/4” foot. The end result was perfectly cut and sewn pieces that needed no trimming!!

It was absolutely awesome not to have to trim the HSTs! Making HSTs alone makes this system worth it to me but there is still SO, SO much more to do with it!
In the beginning, it may seem like you can only make the blocks in the book and the guides that come with the system but with only a few uses, I started to become very comfortable and I realized that I can make SO MANY more blocks than just what is already there in the patterns. I began thinking of all my own patterns that I could apply these die cutters to and I became so excited for future creations with this Go!
I'll be sharing what I'm making with these four blocks soon! So, stay tuned for more...
Also, I have already started working on a new pattern using Accuquilt Go! And, I’m so excited to expand my die library! I definitely want the 12” cube and some of the curved piecing dies! Can you imagine how this will revolutionize the cutting of curved pieces?! I can hardly stand my excitement!! I hope you’ll continue to join me as I explore this system more and find out all of the ways we can use it together!

I have the Accuquilt GO! and several dies but not a cube. I love the strip dies because I can use them to make strips and squares. Love products that can do more than one thing!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea to do strips and squares on the strip die. I liked the cube but only have the one size- 8"- because it came in the set. I would like to get the 12" cube because I think I'd use that a lot too.
