Jessica- my blog is Jessica Dayon and my Instagram account is @jessicadayon

Amber- her blog is Gigi's Thimble and her Instagram account is @gigisthimble

Amber and I thought it would be fun to do a get-to-know-you question every week.  This week we will both tell you a little bit about ourselves and our families.

I'm Jessica Dayon.  I've been married to my husband for almost 12 years.  We have 4 children (3 girls- 9, 7, and 5 yrs and 1 boy- 2 yrs).  We also have a cat- he is my sewing companion and I love him dearly.  I started quilting in the summer of 2017 and haven't stopped since!  It is my absolute passion and I'm so happy to have found it!  You can read Amber's introduction here!  We'd love it if you would tell us about yourself in the comments on one of our blogs or on our Instagram post!

Onto the QAL!

For my quilt, I'm using Mackinac Island by Minick & Simpson.  Amber is using a gorgeous collection of blues from her stash!

This week we are making 6 Harmony Blocks.  Amber has the tutorial for the Harmony block on her blog- HERE.

Here is what my harmony block is going to look like-

I am sewing these blocks along side of you so, I'll post my pictures when I have them sewn!

We'd love to see your fabric pulls and your progress through the QAL, so if you are on Instagram, use the hashtag #willowqal and tag us both- @jessicadayon and @gigisthimble

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Talk to you soon,

Jessica

  1. Thanks for doing this. I'm using a quilt kit I acquired years ago for another project, but never made, so mine will be very scrappy, I'm sure. I'm in Missouri, a retired college administrator, used to being at home, and looking forward to starting something new.
