Good Morning! Welcome to Week 1 of the Savor the Season Quilt Along! I am so excited to make this sampler quilt with you!
We will be making blocks from multiple quilts in my book and assembling them together to make this fun sampler! I will give instructions on assembly here on my blog but you'll need the block patterns from the book to make the quilt. I had the best time combining blocks and coming up with this quilt! Savor the Season measures 72" x 72".
I am going to be making my Savor the Season quilt using Strawberry Honey by Gracey Larson.
To make this pattern, you'll need a copy of my book
Season to Taste: Quilts to Warm Your Home All Year Long. If you don't already have it, you can get your copy of Season to Taste on
Amazon,
Martingale, and
Fat Quarter Shop. The rest of the details are below!
Here is the schedule we will follow during our quilt along-

-Every week during the quilt along, on Friday, I'll post the assignment for the week here on my blog. If you want, you can subscribe to my blog and you'll get an email every time I post something new. If you don't want to subscribe, you can still participate by just visiting my blog every Friday (around mid-morning) to read the newest post. I try to have it up by 9am EST but occasionally it will be a little later.
-I'm happy to answer any questions that you have so please don't hesitate to ask in a comment or on Instagram. However, just to be clear, I will not be posting the exact pattern here on my blog, you'll need my book to make this quilt.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This week, in Week 1, we are making the 4 diamond in a square star blocks. The instructions for the 4 diamond in a square star blocks can be found in the 'Tradition' pattern that begins on page 65. To make these 4 blocks, you will follow the instructions that start on page 68 under the header called "Make the Star Blocks". Follow steps 1- 4 to make the 4 blocks.
When you go to the instructions in the book, each step tells you exactly what size pieces you need to make each part of the block so you can use those sizes to cut your pieces. If you are making exactly as I am, I will tell you the cutting instructions for your fabric below-
If you are making the quilt using Strawberry Honey or following the color scheme that I am, here are the cutting instructions-

Cut 2- 5 1/2" x 21" strips; cross cut into 4- 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" squares
